Amatom电子五金公司成立于1957年，创始人Lowell Abeles在纽约州的新罗谢尔市创立了这家公司。最初，Amatom作为纽约地区制造商的代理商，为纽约市和长岛地区提供服务。1960年，Lowell开始增加能够根据客户需求修改购买零件的内部二次加工设备。到1962年，他完成了Amatom向全服务制造商的转型。
